Who I Am

If you have started reading my blog, I suppose you might have questions about me. You might wonder where I live, what background/life experiences I have, and more importantly, why I decided to write a blog. So I guess I’ll share a little bit of that.

I am a cradle Catholic, including 12 years of Catholic school education. I am married to a wonderful man, who joined the Catholic Church after we had been married for about 18 years. We have two grown children and one son-in-law. The four of them continue to make my life blessed and happy. We live in a small suburb in southwest Ohio.

I’m sharing a picture from Christmas, 2017, because even though my daughter does not love the picture, I do ๐Ÿ™‚ย ย

I have been teaching high school mathematics in a public high school for 22 years. I put a lot ofย  time and effort into learning everything I could about the best strategies and techniques for helping students to learn. I have recently recognized a connection between teaching and providing faith formation experiences. I believe that God is calling me to explore ways that I can apply my professional knowledge to ministry.

To that end, I have a lot of ideas about what that might entail. I’m looking for ways to afford a Theology degree, and I’m finding ways to be more active in my home parish. But as I’ve been praying and trying to discover God’s plans for me, the idea for this blog came to mind.

I love the way God talks to us through other people. The development of this blog idea has been no exception. My husband first gave me the idea to begin with a focus on female saints. My son has given me several ideas (and worked as tech support) including some of the weekly structure that I’m planning to use. My daughter, and my son’s girlfriend, are great proof-readers, although I’m planning to be brave and post most things without forcing someone to proof them first.

I hope you enjoy accompanying me on this journey!
