Merry Christmas!

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas. We had a beautifully relaxing holiday at my house. We watched some classic Christmas movies, had just a few family members over, and a simple ham dinner with pumpkin cookies for dessert.

This season is intended to be so joyful, but I know it can be difficult, especially for those who are missing loved ones. I pray, in particular, for you who struggle at this time of year.

I was especially struck by the Gospel on the 4th Sunday of Advent, just a couple days ago. Elizabeth expresses true joy at the very presence of Jesus. “And how does it happen to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?” (Luke 1:42-43) Can’t you just hear the joy in her voice?

Did we all find that joy at Jesus’ coming on Christmas? I pray that you will all find the joy God desires for us.

I hope you had a blessed Advent and Christmas, and I look forward to restarting my blog posts in mid-January.
