In today’s Gospel, Jesus healed the paralyzed man. I loved two points that Matthew Kelly made in today’s Best Advent Ever video. The first, and I can’t believe I almost missed it, is that the man must have been so grateful for those friends, who carried him to Jesus and found a way to get him to Jesus despite the crowd. How fortunate to have such friends. Do I have friends like that, or more importantly, am I a friend like that? What am I willing to do to bring my friends to Jesus?
Secondly, Matthew focused on putting ourselves into the story as the paralyzed man. In what ways am I paralyzed? …through fear? …through ignorance? …through procrastination? …through pride? Let’s pray that God will heal us in all of these ways so we can get up and walk through life as we are called to do.
