How are you doing with this whole COVID thing? I hope you are finding some comfort in this trying time. Maybe there are even hidden blessings in the middle of the mess.
It might be because of the slower pace that life had to take for a while, or maybe it’s the Holy Spirit at work in my heart, but I feel more at peace in the struggle lately.
Don’t get me wrong, I have those times when the stress is just too much. Once in a while, I even allow myself to get caught up in the negativity being flung all around us.
But I’m learning to turn to the Lord in those moments and ask for help. Have you noticed that it’s almost easier to rely on God when the problems seem too big for us to fix on our own?
I don’t pretend to understand God’s plan and how this whole pandemic fits in, but I know I need to learn to offer my worry to God and let Him guide me. That’s certainly an ongoing struggle for me, but I know the Lord is pleased that I’m trying.
Let’s remember that, no matter what else happens in our world, in our country, in this mostly secular culture, God is still in control. The more we offer our lives to Him, the more He will lead us down His path to enduring joy. Let’s continue to remind each other of that beautiful truth as we do our best to live these everyday Catholic lives.
